Not sure if this is the right area :-/
I am looking to get an up to date CD for my Sat Nav, the car is an 02 2.6 Elite. The NAVTECH logo is on the original CD box and by the bar code it states CD Part No. T1000-8001 GB / Ireland MRE 2004-1 Opel Siemens CD. I have seen a few on fleabay, any advice about what I should be looking for and what sort of price I can expect to pay would be helpful. :y
-
Only advice we can give on here is to buy from NavTech - the ebay ones may have issues and screw up your unit
-
OK, thanks for that. Have checked Navtech - £69 compared to around £50 on Fleabay, worth it for peace of mind. :y

if you intend doing a lot of motorway journeys a useful support is TrafficMaster - not popular with everyone on here but for long journey has served me well these past 9 year or so. This is because you do not have the Dynamic Route facility which more modern VX cars have installed now - it was planned for Omega but not implemented in UK

I just picked up a complete set of European discs (UK, major European countries) from 2008-2009 for £50 on eBay, which seems a lot better than £180 from NavTeq!
(They're original discs and scratch free, so I can't see how they'd screw my unit up ;))
Worth keeping an eye out there if you want all of Europe, I reckon.. and although mine are now a year or two out of date, that has to be better than the 2001 disc that was in there already ;D

So we can take it then you are no longer stuck in romsey ::) ;) ;D ;D

;D Actually no, I'm still stuck in Romsey! I haven't had a dry day when I've been at home and had sufficient 'get off arse' motivation to pull the kick panel off yet.. ;D
I was just planning ahead ;)

This is a hijack - take me to Romsey? I didn't know Sat Navs had kick panels!! ;D ;D ::)
-
Sorry, this will explain all the talk of Romsey & kick panels: http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1285095318/0
Ahem, apologies for the hijack ;)
-
No worries, I enjoy the chatter ;) However I started to read the link and quickly lost the will to live - way too complicated for a metal-basher & wood-spoiler like me :o :o :o :y
-
bottom line is that if you buy your sat nav cd off ebay you have to go and live in Romsey for it to work properly.

The lasers in the NCDC are delicate, using scratched disks or CDRs will kill it fairly quickly
