Found a new oil leak, between the engine to the auto gear box.
what to dismantle engine or gear to change the oil seal?
how much working hours needs for that kind of job?

strange place to leak, what colours the oil? can'T think of any other place that can com from but the cam cover unless it's coming from the torque converter but someone will be along soon who knows more, i will watch with interest

Very strange leak. Be sure it IS from there, as oil has a habit of dribbling to some odd places. Once found what I thought was an oil-filled bush leaking. Turns out it was an old, long-cured leak from the engine cam cover. Had dribbled from the block, down a pipe, to near the wishbone. Very odd!! Took a while to trace it, too.
As its betwixt engine and gearbox, it could so easily be from the cam covers or similar and simply run down.

When were the camcover gaskets replaced?
The cam cover has a semi-circular cut out at the rear end which needs black sealant when fitting the gasket. If this has not been done properly then it will eventually leak oil.
Could this be your problem?

As others have said probably cam covers.
Could be atf from autobox if front seal gone - remove rubber plug from bottom of bell housing and check if any atf in bellhousing.

Could it be the rear crank seal? It would leak to the bellhousing and come out from the joint between engine and gearbox

As per the other replies - check the cam covers. When mine went it not only filled the plug recesses but also went down the back of the engine into the area you have described - a real joy to clean up after I replaced them. ::)

The Cam cover is dry I think it's the rear crank seal.

probably best asking what's standard by vx garage (take a chair with you to sit down!) in my 20years of owning cars i've never had this seal go (knowingly!)

It's easier to remove the gearbox and flywheel leaving the engine in place. A garage would book you maybe 10 hours to fit a replacement crank seal.
