Here's a strange one.
Car starts easily and runs quietly at a nice fast idle. As soon as I select D or R, I get this squeak that seems to come from the vicinity of the aux belt tensioner. (Replaced April - 4k miles - not a peep since).
Pop her back into neutral squeak stops. Back into gear, squeak returns.
After about 30 secs from start the squeak disappears until the next cold start.
Alternator came to mind, but why only when in gear?
Any ideas on what, how or why would be most welcome.
