Title: Carin Sat nav
Post by: elleppahc on 01 November 2010, 15:44:45
Hello everyone.
I need some of your expert help and assistance.
I have a carin sat nav system.

I want to use it and believe I can upgrade the firmware and then the maps.

I cannot find model number on the unit. All I can find is system details as follows

Ident No  SY582/7

HW ID 0203
SW ID 0230

Prod Date 99/34.

Where do I now start for firmware update or does any one have a link of a copy.

All help most welcome

From memory, 2.40 is the latest firmware, and 2008 is the latest map. Its slow to enter a destination with latest map.

Do NOT use CDRs on that system, it will knacker it pretty quickly (be OK for the one-off firmware, but constant use for map will end in tears)

2.3 is the latest version for versions fitted to Omegas.  Ignore all the other confusing info about other (similar, but different) CARiN units out there.

You have the latest version.
