Title: flat spot missing dti 2.2
Post by: tommycon on 01 November 2010, 15:49:27
hiya,
i asked this question a few months but can`t remember getting  any replies so i`ll try again.
i drive a 2.2 dti 02 and when i coast in any high gear with the revs at just below 2000rpm i get a flat spot or miss when i apply the accelerator, i`ve changed the complete turbo ( only because it was leaking oil and the splines where a little chipped) filters twice and the problem is still there.
can anyone please help with some ideas???
 cheers

i had a similar prob and it turned out to be a tiny split in a blank rubber on the turbo 2.50 for a new rubber £45 for the diagnosis

thanks for that
where abouts on the turbo was it? i changed the full unit including manifold and acculator but if its a common prob it may indeed be split,  they do go through oil return gaskets alot

EGR valve stuck open or swirl flaps gummed up i would say.

i'm haveing a similar problem.. from 1000rpm to 2200rpm when the turbine kicks in its powerless... not completely but its a verry verry huge difference between no turbo and with turbo. is it like this to all the 2,2 dti or mine has a problem because i came from a 1,7 astra f tc4ee1 and it revved pretty good under 2000rpm.

its does have some power under 2000rpm but as with every other turbo car i`ve had diesel and petrol when the turbo boosts you feel it, my 2.2dti vectra was great when it came to power just except my miggy will be slower it gathers speed rather than accelerates before the turbo
its the flat spot after i`ve been coasting that is getting on my  nerves, i`ll try and get round to the EGR valve as soon as, the car runs realy good in every other way
