since owning my omega ive noticed (after i bought it which is typical) that when its cold the steering works fine but when its hot the the power steering does not work whilst idling i have to rev it above 700rpm for it to operate correctly?
i would normally assume the pump was dead but it does not do this often and only when hot ie after about 10 miles of heavy foot driving
the reason why i never noticed it on the test drive :-[
so now im guessing at a worn drive belt?
any ideas

it could very well be a worn pump, mine was generally the same as yours, but a 'new' pump sorted it. Try a few changes of fluid Dexron II not three. :y
