Doesnt have a sampling fan.......so how does the air in the cabin get drawn over the sensor? :-/ My guess it doesnt but seems a bit strange to me :-/
-
How do i know?.........Coz i took mine apart this morning......completely......even took the rubber push buttons apart......and got the ciruit board out of its housing.......nothing....nadda...no fan...zilch.......
Amazingly tho i managed to get it all back together and it still worked!!

Not taken one apart. Maybe facelift has more sensors in all the vents, so doesn't need sampling?

Well.......it has the slots for air intake......and on the circuit board behind the slots it has what i think is a surface mount thermistor.......tho i maybe wrong on that.....theres summat surface mounted and that was my best guess :-/

Not a tube running from the sensor down to the main fan to give a bit of airflow perhaps?
It does have 2 more sensors each side according to wiring diagram IIRC, so it may not be as reliant on that sensor :-/

Its a pretty much sealed unit TBH until you start taking it apart.......i did think of main fan giving it some airflow.......but as i say its pretty much sealed until you start taking it apart......so no i dont think so...

Aha!!! I said some time ago that my sampling fan wouldn't hold a piece of tissue paper through suction.
Now I know why. ;D ;D ;D

Yes....i believed they all had sampling fans and thought mine was knackered too........now i know facelifts dont :y ;)

Hole??

So what's this hole is for? :o
the little grille that is in the middle of the climate panel
-
Thats where the thermistor is hidden...

But at least you know yours isnt knackered too AA.......bet youve done the tissue test and wondered :D
Also on the up side i fixed my ashtray while i had it in bits.......it now glides out as it spose to :y
Even MrDTM gave up trying to fix it at the Lakes meet and suggested a scrappy replacement.......Ive fixed summat MrDTM couldnt :o :o :D

Facelift climate control is pretty crap, i'd be after the software upgade to see if that improves it? ::)
