Title: HOW TO GET TO TOP OF SHOCKS,ESTATE

Hi everyone,just about to change rear shocks on elite estate,before i start trying to remove rear trim to get at the top of the shocks was woundering if anyone on here had any advice on how to get to them,dont want to do any damage as trim is in good nick,oh its a 1996 pre- face lift,cheers

You will have to lift the boot floor carpet and you'll see two covers held down with 4 self tapping screws, they are under there  ;)

As pete said..

bit fiddley as you have to unscrew all the carpet retainers as they are well behind the spare wheel well.

Hi
Did mine this year (Elite Estate, 2000). Had no problem at the top end at all, but really struggled getting the lower end of, it just took persistance, and lots of pulling and pushing side to side to free it off the bush mounting. Did both in less than two hours, but arms knackered when I'd finished!

Yeah its worth giving the lower bolt threads a good clean with a wire brush and lashings of Plusgas before hand ;)
