Title: Car stalled.
Post by: Auto Addict on 14 November 2010, 22:27:11
Happened twice today, once whilst waiting at a set of cross roads, started again straight away - no codes stored (apart from the historical 02 sensor one).

Again, whilst over at Welungs as we were filling up the autobox fluid.

Wouldn't start, checked for codes, non present.

Tried again and it started.

Crank sensor?

Could well be. Often worse when a bit of heat has soaked in, and co-operates when it's cooled down.

Worth having a spare in the boot if nothing else.

My thoughts, I think I'll get one tomorrow.

I can vouch that it wasn't that. It cut out while levitating as we were refilling the ATF and wouldn't restart for a few minutes on Sunday ;)

Went to pick Mrs AA up from work, ended up coming home on a recovery vehicle.

I hope it is the crank sensor.

would be unusual to have no fault code...

have you checked with both "My Naff Code Reader", and pedal test?

Changed the crank sensor, seems to have cured the problem :y
