Title: omega diff

my estate auto had a nasty hum from the diff. so had a second unti sent and fitted ,unfortunately this has not cured it.i wonder if any one thinks this could be another cause, Surely two cant be the same. Another thing  when i get out of the vehicle i get four high pitched bleeps this is withno alarms set any body what is this?

Failing powersounder batteries. Disconnect and remove

The noise could be the carrier bearing halfway up your propshaft failing and travelling up the floor of the car, maybe exaggerating it enough to make you think it was the diff. The carrier bearings are usually hidden from view behind the exhaust heatshield, they are held up by a u shaped bracket thats bolted to the floor and pass through like a rubber donut, drop the heat sheilds off and give it a shake, or maybe even un bolt it from the floor, let the propshaft drop a bit and spin it with your hand and listen for noise, it should be fairly obvious

Also check your rear wheel bearings while you have it jacked up. With the handbrake off
