Hi Folks
Having owned my miggy for several trouble free months, it has had a total wobbler in the last 2 weeks, and any help or suggestions on any of these problems would be greatly appreciated.
1. The automatic gearbox does not like to come out of P any more. The pedal test has come back with a 0571 "breakswitch 'A' circuit malfunction. I'm hoping this is just going to end up an easy switch to change?
2. The central locking works fine, except now for the front passenger door! Press to lock once and all doors except the front passenger door locks. Press the button twice for the deadlock, and the front passenger door locks!
3. The emissions light has now appeared and, intermittently, the car runs like a bag of hammers - low power, lots of vibrations. The pedal test has given 0300, 0303, 0304, 0302 - random misfires and misfire on the individual cylinders. I'm going to re-red them as I want to make sure they aren't (or are hopefully) all on the same side. Would this suggest coil packs?
Why do problems have to crop up right before the impending expense of Christmas?
Many thanks for any help!
John

1. brake light switch on the pedal has failed, new one cheap enough from Vx but make sure if you have cruise you get a 4 pin switch or a 2 pin if you don't have cruise.
2. Look in the maintenance guide index, there is a HowTo on cleaning the central locking solonoid. If that doesn't cure it then get one from a breaker on here.
3. Check the plug wells for oil or water and syringe out of necessary, wipe off the oil/water and it should clear up a little. Cures:- Oil, you need trhe cam covers doing. Water, check the soundproofing under the wiper skuttle for water, it will need some sealant to stop the leaking
