The whole nearside of the engine is covered in oil,is there anywhere in particular that leaks on these engines?little pool of oil next to the first(front) injector.Thinking rocker gasket but not sure, anybody had similair?

Check the oil cooler pipes they run below the battery to the cooler behind the bumper.

As above. Also worth checking underside of air intake hose going onto the EGR valve and the braided pipe going to the underside of the intake manifold.

thanks guys, will have a look in the morning.

Remove the black plastic cover covering the injectors
(First pic)
Then identify the short hose connecting the charge air pipe to the inlet, mine's circled in red with the hose removed (two large jubilee clips) in the second pic.
This is where most leaks oil and it sprays n/s of the engine bay by the rad fan. Also oil drips from the small hole/hose underneath on EGR valve.
Check all this first and clean it up. Could be this then you can go onto checking other areas if not.

As said, the egr tends to weep. Rocker gaskets are pretty good on these.
