Title: Aux belt length
Post by: MartinP on 20 November 2010, 21:27:16
This relates to my Robin Hood kitcar build.

I have a 3.0ltr V6 that I have removed the power steering & air con units, I have installed a 45 Amp Bedford Rascal alternator where the steering pump was and now need a 690mm long aux belt.

How long is the non aircon aux belt?

Anyone got a industry book with measurements in?

Any info appreciated.

If you look at the part numbers on the belts they relate to the length in mm and the number of "poly-v" grooves.

.. So you'll be looking  for a 6PK690 or similar (6 grooves, 690mm). There are a few different schemes. Halfords belts are of the form HB690g (g=6 grooves, etc). Bet to just go into Halfords and find the nearest belt to the size you want.

Sorted  :y

went to the local Halfords, spent 20 minutes looking throught the drive belt guide, then went to the Omega page and the length I thought I was looking for turned out to be 1 metre to short  :-[ :-[

Abandoned the search to return and check the length.

I needed 1680mm not 680mm  :-[, different Halfords near work, 10 minutes of searching turned up a HB1675G belt which fits perfectly.  :)

I did wonder. I know my Westfield has a 975 on it, and I can't see how you'd get round 3 ancillaries with a belt much shorter.

Glad it's sorted. One step closer. :y
