Hi can anyone help i have a 2.6 v6 cdx omega and the temperature guage has decided to play up,the car runs fine but the guage only just moves from the stop. the temp inside the car is o k and the car drives o k hoses seem hot under the bonnet oh its an 02 model,

The temp sensor is right at the back of your engine in the middle of the V. The sensor you want is the one with a single wire connector to it. You can prove the gauge by touching the connector to a good earth, the temp gauge should then go to fully hot. It could be a dodgy connection or a temp failed sensor although they're ot known for failing. Also, is your dash seated properly? Try pushing the das towards the left where the loom/dash connections are & see if anything happens.

Thanks for that i have just ran it up the road for about 30 miles seems to be working ?? am at a loss here think i better keep a careful eye on this,yep and ihad a look at where to change the sensor it looks a bit of a fussy job !!!!

dont forget that in this cold weather it will take longer to warm up anyway. ;)

If I may partly hijack this thread, what will the differences be in curing a cold readout for a '00 diesel?
