Further to my "Running rough thread"
Very helpful video from Chrisgixer by the way.. :y :y
My codes read.....1...6..1..3
...........................0...3..0..0
..........................O....3...0...5
The last two ...(I think)...are misfires.....the first code I have no idea.....Any ideas how to bring her back to full health?....Thanks... :y :y :y

Does the e.m.l. come on as normal upon start up?
1612/13 are immobilizer codes, if memory serves...

Thanks....car starts as normal ....then within a mile or two cars starts to run rough....EML light comes on (flashes first).....and then stays on whilst driving....

Oil in plugwells driver`s bank (1,3,5). Coilpack breaking down on #5 or #5 plug breaking down

Flashing e.m.l. ,and the immobilizer codes, may be triggering the misfire codes?
Check for oil and coil/spark prob's first though!

Thanks Brikhead.....Plugs have not been changed in a while.....so this may be a good place to start. Any idea how much a coil pack is?.....is it an easy fit?..I don't want to spend £80 an hour labour charge at a VX dealer.....where they let a spotty seventeen year old loose on it... :y :y :y

Yes,1613 immobiliser incorrect or no signal
0300 multiple or random misfire.
0305 missfire cylinder 5 drivers side near bulk head.
Change the plugs and see what happens. Find a couple of bolts the right size to screw into the coil pack to pull them out. Levering out with a screw driver makes a right 'dangle berries' of the plastic and they don't seal afterwards.
Iirc the plenum bolts may be the right size. :y

Whoops, was checking the codes as you wrote.
Drivers side is by far the easiest, hardest bit is getting the plug off the coil pack connector IMO.. Provided the right size bolts are used to pull the coil pack out.

The 163x is an old code, ignore that for now, and a red herring here.
Its the misfire codes. As others say, lift the coilpack. If its starting to delaminate, thats your issue. If the well is full of oil, thats a good starting point. Worth checking the plugs as well.

Thanks TB.....I've just found an old thread by Markjay dated 2007....on spark plug replacement...It looks like the 2.6 has two coil packs ...one for each bank of cylinders....Driver's side plugs look easier to access than passenger side... :y :y

Indeed, but if you're changing the plugs, obviously both coil packs have to pop out...
