Title: Constructive Day
Post by: Del Boy on 17 January 2008, 15:56:50
Well done my rear brakes today for M.O.T and indicator bulbs and brake light bulb. Had the bloke who does my car bit's come out and he diagnosed my problems, 1st was the grinding noise which i thought was alternator and it is an alternator bearing, 2nd with the funny hissing sound on start up which is something to do with air flow so that has cheered me up a bit.
At the end of the month when i get payed will be getting Cambelt Kit done, Alternator, fan belt and rocker cover gaskets £120 all in but i have to supply the parts  :)

IIRC, alternator bearings are available separately if you want to rebuild it. Look in the Maintenance Guides.  :y
