Title: Best % mix of VX screen wash to water
Post by: SP_3.2 on 29 November 2010, 10:46:37
Over the past few days could not get any water out of jets for screen and lights. Using the VX screen wash. I think the jet heaters are on all the time :question..
Is there a best % Screenwash to water mix to use in the -weather that we are having to keep them working.
 .

Thanks
Steve

i run at a guestimate of about 25% screenwash in the winter, much less in the summer

Best % is as the manufacturers of the screenwash advise. Some come prediluted ready to use, others must be diluted per recommendations.

Sounds more like your filter is blocked, easy to clean:

I drained the Astra's bottle to the floor when I was sorting out its washer pump, the 25%-ish mix I have in my cars started to freeze on the ground within about 5 or 10 mins.  :-?

Just to correct you Steve, the jet heaters only work when the heated rear screen is on :y

think they are permanent on facelifts  :-/

Ive found VX's opticlean much better than macro's specials at freeze resisting too, and general cleaning ability

Suppose its like comparing tesco's own washing up liquid to fairy  :-/

It says on the bottle.  I'm currently at 33% screenwash to 66% water.  I normally use 25%/75%, but strengthened it up a bit more due to the colder weather.

I use Holts (as I can often get it much cheaper than anything else), which might vary.  I have some GM stuff in garage, but only use in the summer, as the label fell off ::)

I too have figured out this device.  I find if I leave all my clothes untidyly in a chair, the washing fairly does something, and they appear in the wardrobe.

Except socks. No idea what the washing fairy does to socks. I leave a pair to be {insert whatever washing fairies do with them}, and end up with 2 odd ones back...

I have yet to find an ironing fairy myself...  ...unless I'm out with her, as she is normally embarrassed at my attempts to iron ;D

He's a useless student, he'll be fine.  I'm sure he necks enough disinfectant (as sold under the guise of cheap cider) to kill it off ;D
