Title: Battery removal
Post by: Matt Read on 04 December 2010, 11:43:53
Could somebody please tell me how to take the battery out of an Omega 2.5 v6. Been pulling and tugging at it and have got sore arms pulling on a 2 ton car!!
Are there clips holding it in?
Cheers.

There's a clamp at the bottom of the battery on the left hand side that'll need undoing.  :y

Ditto! There's a plate at the bottom of the battery with a bolt on it & holds the lip of the battery in place to stop it from sliding  :y

I'm glad I'm not the only one who pulled on it and went "Ok.. what's holding this in?" ;D

If you've got the battery blanket on then bear in mind you can't see the clip until you take that off (at least not on the 3.2) :)

13mm nut but it might be rusted in and snap as you undo it :(

And whatever you do...make sure you put the battery back on the right way round...you can put them on facing either way round as the leads are long enough...make note of which way round the battery is before you start lol I have seen it done wrong a few times...the terminal side of the battery should be closest to the wing...
