Post by: vauxhall nutter on 12 December 2010, 18:57:56
Does anyone know the cambelt change interval for a 2.5TD (BMW engine i believe?) as i am looking at one at the moment and just wondered what the change interval was.

Cheers and thanks in advance

As Omegatoy says, its a chain, so no specified interval.

With good oil servicing, these should last the life of the engine.  Poor oil servicing may have accelerated wear on the chain and spockets.

Thanks for that chaps, i did wonder if it might be a chain!

So i guess that listening for a rattly sound from the chain area is the thing to do?
