Post by: vauxfan2k on 12 December 2010, 19:15:13
rounded these while trying to remove my discs, used a chisell to remove but now they are fubar'd.

does anyone know what the part no. is for them from vaux?

ideally need a set of 4.

and no i dont want to leave them without the bolts fitted (incase anyone suggests  ;D)

Do you mean the alloy tax disc holders from Halfords?

They do sell a spare set of bolts and a hex spanner ;) ;)

Remember that these are not essential as the wheel bolts hold the discs on, these are just a retaining bolt (and hence should not be tight)

I would endorse that they are not essential as I've just replaced the discs on my wife's Corolla & they do not have any retainers at all.

I can't think specifically about the rear disc/drum retaining screw, but the front screw definitely isn't M10  :-? I had to 'persuade' one from the front of my Senator years ago, the Omega's is the same and is a countersunk allen key drive M6 machine screw  ;)

or we're both taliking about different screws/bolts  :y

Foe how little they cost, and the fact that I chewed two of mine up changing my discs / pads, I'd personally suggest to anyone doing a brake service to buy a pack of four as well as the discs / pads, etc.
