Title: Crankshaft sensor

Can someone describe the symptoms of the crankshaft sensor failing.
The main point I need clarifying is, does the engine turn over or is there a big fat nothing?

The engine will turn over but it won't receive the signal to fire the plugs so won't start.

Ok thanks. So that being the case, leads to my next question.
I left work and the car stalled and would not start for 10 minutes. No turning over, no clicking, nothing. All electrics were good. Not done it since. Any ideas?

thats not a crank sensor symptom, sounds like a bad earth, check all the engine bay earths, and the battery connections are tight, also check connections at back of starter.

could also be a solenoid problem on the starter
