Title: Misfire on 2.5V
Post by: austin148 on 20 December 2010, 20:30:28
Hi guys. Newbie here and really starting to tear me hair out. I have got a 98 2.5V6 and love it to bits. Car has been going great up till about 3 weeks ago when the hard frost and snow came. Left car in work for a few days tried starting with no problems. Went to take car home and it now has a misfire.

Phoned RAC to do a diagnostic check which came up with crankshaft sensor.CHanged that still nothing. Then realised that testing it without engine running would through up this fault. Tried paperclip test and got codes stating EGR valve low voltage EGR valve low feedback, idle control valve low voltage and immobiliser low voltage.

Changed EGR valve and still running with misfire. Also changed the plugs.  I am now at the end of my tether and struggling to justify throwing any more cash at it but love it so much.

PLEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE help me guys.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I would do a paperclip test and tell us what codes came up.

Was the crank sensor you replaced a genuine Vauxhall one?
