Whent to fill up with petrol today. And couldn't get the petrol cap off. It turns but just keeps clickng. Any idea what i can do to sort it so i can fill up for Christmas. TIA.

Pour warm water over & around it? It's probably the rubber seal frozen to the filler neck :y

Thanks for that. Why didn't i think of that. Could well be. Will give it a try tomorow. Thanks.

Push down hard on the cap as you unscrew it :y

Yes, hot water or hairdryer should sort it. If you need another cap, I have one. Not being funny but you are turning it ANTI-clockwise? :-/

Ha Ha. Yes i did check though as it was the same as when you tighten it & it clicks. Had a trolly rage incident in Tescos & then a run in with a 4X4 driver who didn't realise that ice makes the roads slippy. She must of thought she was on the school run on a nice sunny day. So i was stressed out but defo turning anti clockwise.

there is also an emergency release cable, on drivers side cubby hole :y

The flap opens ok. It's just the cap that wont come off.

read the question Tunnie ;) it's not the door that's the problem it's the actual cap ..... hence mention of clicking!
-
D'oh! I thought clicking might be the locking pit in for door/cap

Hi everyone. Poured boiling water over it & it's ok now. It never even crossed my mind that the seal had frozen to the filler neck. I can fill her up now ready for piccing Mum up on Christmas Day. Many thanks. Have a great Christmas & a happy New Year.
