In mark DTM's excellent cambelt change DVD he talks about "pre-setting the idle rollers".
The one just above the water pump isn't a problem, but my idle roller to the right of the water pump.
Neither my old one, nor my new one have the arrows on them showing whether the are set up correctly or not. (pics below);

Could any of you chaps advise please?
What does "pre-setting" actually do?
Are my rollers already "pre-set"?
If you look closely at the pictures, you will notice a break in the 'C' Clip inside the roller. Do I use this as my mark instead of the arrows?
And what are next weeks winning lottery numbers?
In advance, :y

I suspect you have the later 2.6 or 3.2, its only the top roller thats adjustable on them ;)

I asked similar a while back. Looked at the kit before dismantling to find one non adjustable idler! Wrong kit I thought,double checked, kit was correct. Didn't know the lower idler was fixed/non adjustable on later models. So only bank 1 needs adjusting, which helps. :y
Begs the question why not fix both :-? Too manta accumulated errors in machine tolerances I guess?
