When cranking the engine over does the eml light flash? I believe all omegas have immobilizers
-
when the eml flashes it means that the immobiliser is still engaged, have you being doing anything with the key
-
the light flashes constantly when i turn the key to on and it flashes constantly when trying to start. also the abs light flashes when trying to start it as well. i am 100% sure the car has no immobiliser they did not start using them untill 1996 its just a standard key with nothing inside the plastic bit in the key it always comes apart. any ideas ware to start looking for this problem car worked fine parked it up used it again about 2 hours later and car wont start
-
94 to 96 cars used the ir system ie key plus seperated fober so still shouldhave an immobiliser where a car of this age get the signal from,i dont know :y
-
Have you a spare key you can try?
-
Are you using the fob key if so open it up carefuly the micro chip might of slipped off its holder :y
-
i only have the one key no remote locking. the key is just a normal key with no transponder inside. the plastic bit on the key always comes apart and there is nothing inside. is the injector timming run off the timming chain or the aux belt its maybe sliped a tooth
-
The ECU uses the input signals from the start of
injection sensor, together with signals from the
crankshaft position sensor.
Start of injection sensor is incorporated in injector #4.
-
kneepad thanks for reply but your info is to technical how can i use it to proceed forword
-
You could check the wiring at #4 injector or try a new injector.
It could be the crank sensor but your codes point to the immobilser. :-/
-
well its some were to start kneepad i will give it a try tomorrow
-
Double check your key. I thought there was no chip in mine until I saw this:

if no chip in the key it wont start!! unless a previous owner has taped the chip to the ignition barrel or somewhere close :-[

Is it possible that the last time this happened the chip fell out?
