Title: Brake pads replacing...
Post by: Dany on 23 January 2011, 19:21:26
Hi all!

I have replaced my front brake pads and disks with new Bosch ones! But... I don't see how I have to connect the pads sensor on them? Is there some pics or help for that? I have searched on the maintenance guide section but I don't have found anything about the pads sensor... Is there a sensor for the rear too?

Thanks for help!

no wear pads on rear  ;) front pads should have a circular hole in the top which sensor clips into, so the plastic pin faces the disc  :y
if pads dont have a hole locate the sensor connector and short it out that way no warning on display  :y, but if you want the pad warning go buy some pads with the sensor hole in  ;)

your pads should look like this ---http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-BRAKE-PADS-MINTEX-FRONT-ATE-TYPE-/250214441464?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item3a41f161f8
the hole at the top by the anti-rattle springs is where the sensor clips in  :y

The fiendish one isn't quite right.  ;) There's a butterfly shaped anti-rattle spring on each pad, the wear sensor clips to the hole in the spring.  :y

That listing is wrong. They are not omega pads, as Andy says.

Little pip on the sensor fits in the rivet holding the spring.

Make sure the routing is correct because once fitted they are a bugger to get out again without braking.

Wrong pads mate - these were only fitted to early 2 lit 4 pots!!

These are the correct ones - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VAUXHALL-OMEGA-2-0-2-2-2-5-3-0-BRAKE-DISCS-PADS-MINTEX-/230223711178?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item359a670bca

Get em from Vx on TC - about £15 for front pads  :y

the anti-rattle spring has a hole its middle where it's riveted to the pad. The sensor has a peg (split into 3 or 4) that just pushes into this hole.

I have a set of new pads for mine on the back seat that I hope to fit in the coming week. I'll try to remember to use my camera.  ;D ;D
