When i press the brake padal the check display moves on to the waning display as icey road and so on. When i press the steering wheel controls to remove it it will not go and can not get the normal screen back up showing temp, time, mpg and so on. Any tips to get it back.
Thanks Steve. :y

What happens if you tap the right hand control knob on the head unit?
-
Was getting no joy from that normal that would do the job and get it back to the main screen :-/ :-/
-
Assuming you have an NCDC 201x, which I do, then I push the multi-function knob on the right hand size to clear those messages.
Alternatively, perhaps pushing the MAIN button would also clear it.

This might be a bit basic but, not steering wheel controls, the MID buttons on the wiper stalk.

If the OP has an Elite with a GID or CID then his controls aren't on the wiper stalk ;) (Mine are on the wheel, as I presume are his - select, up, down on one side, volume up, down and .. I forget on the other)
(My pre-facelift 2.5TD with a MID had controls on the wiper stalk)

Well spotted, must learn to read the OP's Car details when coming home late.

So it's showing the ice warning and continually flashing up when cleared? Think I had something similar if so but less persistent. Never got to the bottom of it.
I,m sure TB will respond but in the mean time is it worth resetting the head unit? Press and hold main and clear together for 6 seconds iirc.
Although not sure if it's a check control issue or if the head unit has any influence on it any way. :-/

Was the temp hovering just above 3C. ?

Thanks for the tips everyone. Looking at the infor i did not put in that i have a new aftermarket unit fitted as my NCDC system is on the fizz and needs some parts replacing with the help of Mark should be up and runing again soon . The new unit is
a Pioneer-AVH-3200bt.
It had the controls fitted for the steering wheel controls to work the system which works great ...just just not giving me any control over the CID. Think James pointed out that with out the NCDC the CID will not work :-/ :-/. Was hoping there would be a way of still clearing the warnings somehow. Not sure if any one has had the same prob with theres once they have changed the unit or found a way round this prob.

I beleive the only way is downgrade to a mid and stalk, and add some wiring :'(
if you did this good money in the CID i reckon :y

Thanks Jimbob .... :y :y. Was thinking there was something that i could do but look,s like it,s a NO :'(.

Did you get the NCDC out then?
If so, pop it up as I have a spare CD carrier mechanism....or two. :y

I'd gnaw someones arm off for a de-paired CID (or a CID & broken HU) ... 8-)

Did ;D ;D ;D. The fitter told me that it took at good hour to get out, but no damage at all. :y :y.
If the normal time would be ok that would be great ...good to have it all sorted.. :y :y
