Title: Air con whine.

I have recently noticed a noise that was difficult to locate but have established that it stops when the air con it turned off.  It is slight whining noise, feint and ' in the distance ' sounding ...... a bit ethereal !! Any ideas what part of the air con system is is ? Cheers

Possibly compressor bearing open the bonnet turn aircon on and have a listen around the front offside
