Title: viscous fan removal benefits?
Post by: relluf on 16 February 2011, 12:42:08
I have seen plenty of posts saying the viscous fans are not needed. need to be removed , no use  etc etc but what are the benefits of taking it off , mine is still in place , what am i getting if it comes off . Its a 2.5 td maybe i am missing something blindingly obvious! Thanks in advance.

You should post this in Omega General Help mate - you'll get more response there.

This section is for test posts only.

You lose that awful noise when it fails ;D

Seriously, it makes the electric fans kick in more, and the intercooler fan (which seizes if not used).

Yes, you will lose that noise :y

If you are getting that noise really bad, thats a sign the thing is knackered anyway.

Store the fan upright - you can always put it on again if necessary. Do not store flat.
