I have the same problem on one of mine, the other one just clicks and does nothing - the gear mechanism is fubar, got a replacement from a breakers.
As suggested follow the guide, it is spot on. The problem I had was getting the shelf out past the Bose speakers, IIRC the studs which go through into the boot space tend to catch on them. A good yank works but mind you do not damage the speakers!
If you manage to fix it any chance you could let me/the forum know how?  :y

I went through the same stage with mine. I removed it all from the car & manually wound it up & down OK but didn't seem to achieve anything. It sorted itself when the weather warmed up. I don't think the fabric is pliable enough when cold.  :-/ :-/

Stray glue from fitting the rear screen made my parcel shelf a right barsteward to remove.  :-? :-?

Mine was sticking like that at the end of last summer.  All I did was squirt some of the old faithful, WD40, down the sides of the mechanism and then keep raising and lowering the blind a few times.  It worked a treat with the blind now folding down as it should :y :y

Mine just gets left up. It's only when SWMBO drives it that it gets lowered ............. same with the Senator, but they weren't electric.  ;)
