Title: thumping sound when braking or hitting bumps !?
Post by: questor on 21 February 2011, 19:33:17
Hi i have a 1999 omega with 54k on the clock, i get a thumping (dull thud) from the front of the car when i brake hard or hit a bump in the road, has been there for about 6 months now and it is due MOT soon, suspect it's a suspension thing but no idea where to start looking...

Any help will be welcome

I would look at the drop links first, if not them then the rest of the suspension components - wishbones, springs dampers etc. :y

Personally I'd start with the front wishbone bushes ;) ;)

Bet you get a pull if you brake very hard too ::)

As Albs says - replace droplinks first - most likely the cause and cheap (~£7 ea) and dead easy to swap  :y
