Title: swapping 2.5 for 3.0 what items are different?
Post by: Varche on 23 February 2011, 14:50:32
both cars are auto 97 but one is a minifacelift but look different under bonnet. Things like vacuum pipes. Are the rads different for example? Both have short plenums which is  a plus I suspect..

I considered this a while back and then baulked at it. Now reconsidering?

Are the wiring looms and connectors different?  e.g. DIS pack .What needs to also move over with the 3.0 eng and gearbox?

the general word on here is that you will need to use the ar35 gearbox for the 3 ltr  :y

I would leave the loom attached to the engine in both cases and just transplant the whole thing. The engine unplugs at a big connector behind the battery, plus the ECU plug.

Not sure what would be different? Vacuum pipe routing changed a little,  at one point, I think?

An yes, an AR35 would be advisable. Just leave it attached to the engine and swap engine+box over.
