Got home today, locked the car only to find on return that the central locking on all but the drivers door works perfectly, but the drivers door deadlock ....Nothing.....OOOPS !!!
So I can access the car and start the engine, and even drive the blumming thing with the drivers door firmly deadlocked ... not good as I use as a taxi ...I cant do a runner anymore. :'( :'(
Its a 52 plate Elite 2.2 diesel , if thats any help.
I regularly grease both the ignition and the door locks & recently had a spare key cut.
Could anyone point me in the right direction 'cos if I cant get my drivers door open I wont be able to remove the door card and repair.
Hope its not a lost cause cos I need it to earn more fuel money.
Love to all.

You should be able to use the key in the lock. It takes a lot of effort to open if dead locked & the battery dies, so I'd expect the same. And the button doesn't always lift either. ;)

I had this problem a while back, I just kept locking and unlocking with the remote, and eventually it opened. It's happened a couple of times, but not in the last 12 months. You watch it will happen now I've said that.

Out at sunup, got in passenger door, opened drivers window and pulled the little tit up with mole grips......55 seconds and in.
I also lifted the plastic tit surround, and sprayed liberally with WD40.
Jobs a guddun. Panic over. Will remove door card tomorrow to do a better job.
Thanks again for all your help, it was much appreciated.

That's good to here, but remember WD40 isn't a lubricant.

and wil actually wash out the lubricants which were in there.
making it worse :(
light machine oil (sewing machine oil) is what you want.
used also for hair trimmers (ask in a barbers) if there's not a proper sewing shop about.
locksmiths will also be able to source some (funnily enough)
