Title: auto gearbox 2.5TD
Post by: krivoyrog25 on 22 March 2011, 21:15:57
Hi,

I have a problem with my autobox on '99 2.5TD. I have found the filter blocked and the oil is nearly burned.

Where can I fill the box? Acoording to the book the box takes Dexron 3 oil, but how much from empty with a new filter?

Many thanks in advance

drivers side if i remember correctly, there is a filler plug you have to remove then fill to the top, then start engine run through all postions on the gear quadrant, return to park then pour more in while it is running till it just comes out of the hole job done!!

Off the top of my head i think its about 8-9 litres in total but you'll only ever get half out when you do a fluid change :y

Wear a boiler suite(to cover arms) and put a pair of gloves on it can get pretty hot :y
