Hi! Whine from front(offside I think)of V6 3.0. I have changed aux.tensioner pulley, still persists. No other effects but increases with engine speed. Any ideas?

When was the cambelt (and tensioners/idlers) last changed?
-
About 30-32k ago.

I would run it (briefly! since the water pump won't be turning) with the aux. belt removed. It could be tired bearings in the alternator which this will eliminate. If the whine is still there it's probably cam belt related - a failing idler or perhaps incorrect belt tension.
Given that the cam belt's only got another 8k to go anyway, I would probably just change it if it's the source of the noise.

check power steering fluid level,if this is low pump will whine quite loudly

Whip the Aux belt off and take it for a short spin, that gets rid off Alternater and Aircon, if its still there was the water pump changed with the last Cambelt?.
Your due a new Cambelt Kit and Water pump in about 8K anyway.
