Title: Wheels-InMotion Open Day and Knowledge/Technical D
Post by: TheBoy on 23 January 2008, 22:20:26
I've been discussing with WIM the celebratory days to be held probably in March, dates still to be finalised.

Open Day
This is an open day open to all clubs, and is a look around the new centre. Refreshments provided by WIM

Technical Day
This will be on a yet-to-be-decided Sunday and is purely for OOF.  The format will be cars will be chosen at random on the day, and aligned, with WIM explaining what and why. The cars chosen will be done for free, so you may be lucky enough to get probably the best alignment available in the UK on your Omega for nought.  If your car doesn't get chosen, you will still see the process and how it is done.

Ahhm... not sure if Tony will be happy with us producing a DVD of how he aligns the omega... then again he might not mind, but this needs to be cleared with him in advance me thinks...

Granted. It was just a thought that occurred to be thinking back to the February cam belt party.

My car needs aligning soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. I've got to fix the misfire first, then I'm off to see them.

My tractor needs aligning badly. Weird tyre wear.  But he's closed until the new centre is ready  :'(

The answer to this is exactly the point of going to WIM for a little tutorial, I reckon. There's no such thing as "spot on". The tolerances are so wide it's a joke and the correct setting depends on other variables.

PHEW!!!! I have just stopped playing with the car - putting new leads and plugs on to see if it cures my misfire. If it does (find out tomorrow am as it is getting a bit dark now) I'll be on the phone to them to book it in sharpish!!!
