Title: Temp gauge sender on a X22Z
Post by: Jan Suhr on 26 April 2011, 16:01:07
On my Omega the temp gauge died the other day. It doesn't show any temp at all.

My guess is that the sender is bad.

Can someone tell me where to look for it?

Thanks

Try giving the speedo a tap with your knuckle.

Sometimes works with mine, daft I know, but mine is something to do with the connection at the back.

I'm not well up on 4 cylinder cars, bit I think the sender is at the back of the engine next to the ECU's temp sender. You want the one with just one wire to it. (RobG will find a picture for you  ::) ;))  If you  remove the wire & ground it (connect to earth/negative side of the battery) the gauge should go all the way to hot) You could just have a bad connection.  :y :y :y

I found a picture  :y :y :y This actually a 2.0 with a DIS, but yours is similar  :y

That usually works when the instrument lights go out.

I'll check the connection and try to ground it and we'll see whats wrong.

Thank you guys  :y
