Title: Oil leak at front of car.
Post by: REvil71 on 30 April 2011, 10:36:26
Why is sods law such a git. Decided to keep my mv6 so put new tyres on her, stainless steel system from longlife (nice and shiney) then hey-ho a leak and a light. Can anyone suggest before i start looking . The oil light has come on but only when idling so got it home and parked. Checked in engine bay to find oil on lower tray. Oil a bit low so topped it up, cleaned oil and ran for a little time. Evidence of leak from somewhere at the front, perhaps lower parts. What am i looking for which could be the most obvious.

Thanks for any help. :-/

Crankshaft pulley is the only thing I can think of at the front and low down on the engine.

Could be cam cover gasket - I had oil on my tray and at bottom of engine - ok now since cam cover gaskets replaced  ;)
