Title: Facelift front ashtray removal

For some reason the ashtray in the front is now open and won't shut. The cigarette lighter has gone all loose and floppy. I don't use either and it's no biggie leaving it open but it would be nice to fix it if it doesn't mean taking the entire car apart!
Any ideas how to get it out so I can see what may be causing the problem?

if i remember right one screw in the middle behind the ashtray and it all pulls out in one

Sounds like the state mine was in when I bought the car.  See if this helps:

Brilliant thanks guys,
plastic lug had broken off of the back of the cigarette lighter and had dropped inside stopping the rest of the ashtray from closing  >:(
