Thinking of changing my steering wheel to a wood rimmed 3 spoke jobbie 'cos airbag wheels are ugly to be honest......well sorry but they are & i can live without audio controls on the wheel, nothing new now just an outdated gimmick to me anyway, but what's involved in changing 2 horn push buttons into one centre push? & does disconnecting the steering wheel airbag affect the other airbags ie the car seats, passenger side etc? & are their any other problems involved please? ::)

As far as I remember have one socket and dont think will effect others
seperating the battery will be a good precaution..

It could be an insurance problem IMHO. Make sure there'd be no issues with having removed the airbag.
Whole airbag system will be disabled and the light will come on if the bag is removed, although it might be possible to fool it. :-/

Just a thought for now. Would it fail an MOT?

I think it will pass an MOT. You would have to declare to insurance, as you have disabled a key safety system.

:-/Do you think the ins.would use it as an unecessary excuse to bump up my premium? I hav'nt declared the "duccie kit" but have declared my points...i know not everyone does. Some members cars are modded ie wheels body kit bits etc. Do you declare & if so who do you insure with please?
Driving for a living i have to stay legal. I don't have the lift to work option if i was to incurr a totting up ban. :y
