Hi everyone, when in slow moving traffic or say busy towns, the temp gauge will creep up past 90+, I am not sure if this is having an affect on the auto box, like sometimes thumping into gear, but on open roads the temp is back down to around 80, and so the box seems to settle down again, changing up is smooth again, but as soon as that temp increases the gear change sometimes thumps into gear, any suggestions would be appreciated, thank you, Mel.

Mine is always sitting around 90+ish. if thats any assurance, as for the gear change not sure. But im sure someone should help you out your misery soon! :y

thanks, would that be 90+ all the time, and does not creep up in built up traffic etc?

Mine was sitting at around 80 (or even lower) when warmed up and on open road and had a faulty thermostat.
Just replaced it and it sits at a steady 92(ish) when warmed up and maybe creep up to 95 when stationary.
Every Vauxhall ive had has sat around 90 on the open road.

It sits around 90+ most the time, sometimes gets close to 100 then fan kicks in and comes back down (sitting at traffic).
But thats been the case with my cavalier/s - omega 2.2 and now 3.2, so i would say nothing to worry about. :y
