I had the same problem it vanished just after midnight :'(

it came back about an hour later but was so slow i just gave up

See it wasn't the stella :D So what happened then Mr admin?

Internet connection has been up 90 days
Host server has been up since 14th Sept
Redhat server has been up 17 days (presumably since host rebooted after patching)
We did have a power cut around 7:00am this morning, but the UPS kept all systems up...

Just after midnight, i tried to log on for about half an hour and then gave up, doughboy reckons about an hour

Right in middle of backups then. And yes, there was a tape in last night ;)
Host server may have been paging heavily at time, is a tad low on RAM (idles at around 2.5Gb usage, but only 2G installed). But, I would have thought only a slowdown, not completely unavailable...

Well it did go off and im not happy about it, i had to talk to Timbuk2 instead ;D

I posted the ebay scam thread at 12:02, after i hit post it just locked up. Left a window open for at least 20 mins and all i got was the blue progress bar at the bottom of IE.
Was a bit drunk last night but I recon it was down for at least an hour to an hour and a half.

Hmmm, google was scanning us at 00:10, then nothing until nearly 3am.... ...nothing going on on the server of interest - bugger.
Will check out web logs running on host server to see if that was same...
