Ordered a battery Saturday from the dealer and picked it up today. Walked nearly a mile with it as car wouldn't start.
Got it home and tried to fit it but its physically too big! Its a 93197903. He told me that is the correct battery for the 3.2 despite me asking twice and even offered my registration. My fault really for not checking.
The original one is a GO GM71-T7. Didnt know what was in there at the time and assumed dealer would know. Why would he give me this? Are the GO batteries not available anymore?

I too have picked up a new battery today, same part number, and am not convinced it's going to fit. It's the correct part number but :-/ :-/
It is the correct one though, apparently. Andyc very rarely makes mistakes :y

Is that an 85Ah battery?
The part number I fitted to mine (which was the same rating as the one already in there) earlier this year was 93189923 and 65Ah IIRC.

Yes its 85ah.

That's what was in my old 2.5TD and what the Trade Club site (used to!) says fits the 3.2.. but I remember reading here that it doesn't fit, so when I went to get mine I got a 'same sized' replacement (which fits & starts just fine)

If it won't go in I'll have to visit Andy again... But I'll wait until I've checked :y

I'll be interested to know if the 85Ah does fit :)

It doesnt fit :(
Is there an alternative that I can get other than the GO if they dont stock it?

Not sure... The one in there is starting it ok but sounds a little slow turning over... Wanted the correct, 85Ah one but it sounds like it isn't going to fit :'( :'(

Yep, 85Ah is huge and won't fit a 3.2. My 3.2 also has a 65Ah battery fitted. :y

Fairly sure the one I took out of mine was the original, too (certainly looked old and undisturbed enough!) - I suspect the parts catalogue is just plain wrong for the 3.2s :)

Yep, mine looks original and still going strong <realises he's relying on it to get home and frantically looks for something wooden>.

Well I went with the one Aaron suggested which I suspect everyone else has in their cars. It's the 65ah that fits the entire range of miggys
