Anybody recomend a decent fault code reader at a sensible price which is capable of reading codes from a 2003 2.2,as my mate is going round the twist trying to get his car running properly.

I doubt it. It looks like an OBDII reader.

I doubt it. It looks like an OBDII reader.
It is an OBDII reader and it works well(use mine daily). But it won't read my 2000 V6 Omega.
Specs are 2001 onwards for petrol engines, and 2004 for diesels. It's pretty limited for diesels. Although it has a library of manufacturer specific codes, I frequently have to look up unlisted ones. Internet connected phone is very handy here!

autel gs500 code reader from ebay,works on my 2001 omega 2.2 petrol...paper clip wont work on the 99> facelift models...
