Title: YouTube speeding
Post by: Weds on 26 January 2008, 08:04:09
Did anyone see on the news the YouTube clip of the car doing 125mph down a motorway, they showed the speedo, looked like a Omega to me.

125 used to be a bit naughty, now it gets on the news! could be the start of the liberal elite agenda to fit speed limiters to all vehicles? :o :(

if it was a 3.0l like they say, at 125, it wouldnt have been "pushed to its limits" like they say! - dont believe everything you read in the paper!  ;D

deff a big omega 160mph speedo! er you can get the needle further round if you try! you dont suppose it could have been the boys in blue do you filming it for training purposes?? here in the west mids /west mercia area they get let off for 159mph remember the court case last year????

If it was a 3ltr auto in sports mode it only kicks into top gear at an indicated 128, apparently, so it cant be being pushed to its limits if it is not in top gear on a straight road  :)

[bandwagon] I of course in no way condone the actions of the driver and think it irresponsible and he/ she should be chained up and stoned to within an inch of their life etc etc etc [\bandwagon]

Yeah i thought it was an Omega too, i can't imagine it'd be a V6 vectra but then again thay might use the same dials.

I've heard that 2.6 MV6's do 130 in 4th gear but i can't think who told me that!  If a 2.6 manual will to 130 in 4th, what will 5th give you going flat out?  :)

About 140 according to the book. 5th gear is power limited, rather than rev limited. The 3.0 manual does 151 according to VX, again power limited.
