Title: Alarm issue
Post by: Turk on 22 May 2011, 21:07:08
Power sounder was binned ages ago, but at 7:30 this morning the car alarm kicked off, and again earlier this evening.  :-[
As a short term quick fix I've disconnected the alarm horn, but this won't stop the hazard lights flashing if it activates again.
Anyone know how to disable the hazard lights from the alarm ?

Check the state of the underbonnet alarm switch first Turk, it may be misaligned & only just making a circuit which is easily broken if high wind flexes the bonnet. :-/

The under bonnet switch should be ok as I've cable tied it to its mounting, and it appears to be fine.

No grey relay to be seen under passenger side kick panel, or at least nothing obvious.
Assuming you mean the area behind the glove box.

Remove passenger kick panel. High up is a block holding some relays, red one is for servotronic steering, grey one is for the alarm indicators

By 'kick panel' do you mean the 'board like' panel above the feet/behind the glove box, held in place by 3 large head plastic fixing screws or the side panel to the left of passengers feet, held in place by a deeply recessed Torx screw ?

On removing the upper 'board like' panel I can see two multi wire connectors, but nothing that looks like a relay.
