Title: Omega Tyres
Post by: mark.adams on 29 January 2008, 17:13:03
Just reading about somebody elses woes with a different speed rated tyre... What is the best, yet still reasonably affordable tyres to put on a miggy, take mine as an example a 2.2 petrol on a 52 plate?

There are alot of threads on this topic if you search around.
Basically it does depend alot on individual choice. ;)

I have the same car - Pirelli P7's from new - £75 at local tyre fitters - £150 at Kwik Fit. Quiet, grippy and good for 20k

depends what you want out of a tyre, with a 2.2 like me its hardly going to need 'performance' tyres.

Got a full set of Goodyear Eagle Ventures on mine, had them 3 years and done 25k and still have 6mm on the back!

And those tyres were already on the car when i bought it!  :o

A 2.2 on lpg........its not gonna be needing too much grip for the power......so Nankangs NS2's  :y You should be able to get em for £55 a corner fitted......i can  :y
And they will last 30k+ miles  :y

You mighta guessed..........i like Nankangs NS2's  :y ;D

Avon ZZ3s are rubbish on back of a tractor, if that helps...

I used to swear by Avon ZZ3 as they were excellent for grip. Then I realised that I couldn't get more than a year (10k miles) out of them even after Tony Bones had sorted my wheel alignment. They were really bad for tramlining too. >:(
Am changing over to Conti sport contacts which so far seem more durable and better for tramming. Time will tell.

I wouldn't put ZZ3s on a skateboard.  Very unimpressed with lack of grip.....
