Title: Alarm Problem
Post by: MBoswell on 27 May 2011, 11:06:15
Hi i bought an Omega 2.5 v6 cdx earlier this week.  I didn't notice any problems with the car.  The car only has one key with the remote.  The open button does not work but the lock and boot release do.  I had pressed the alarm button on the central console and locked the door, not sure with key or remote.  Now every time I open the car the alarm goes off.  This can only be stopped by starting the engine or locking the doors.  Can anyone help?
Cheers

Hello mate, if you do not have a Handbook for your car then go here to download a copy
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/andrew.reynolds983/Manuals/Omega2002Manual.pdf

Pay particular attention to  pages 50 to 62.  :y

If alarm is set and you unlock with the key as opposed to the fob it will activate

Contact Martin Imber (http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?action=viewprofile;username=002C3F392423127C747B7F4D0) on this forum - he is the master of making remote key fobs work properly.

The alarm on your car activates automatically every time you lock the car.  The alarm button on the central console is to disable the movement senors inside the car, for example if you are leaving a dog inside and don't want his movements to set the alarm off.

If you unlock the car with the remote fob, the alarm is automatically disabled - obviously this isn't available to you just yet.  If you unlock the car with the key, the alarm will be triggered and you have to disable it by turning the key in the ignition.

My experience, for what it's worth.   :)
