Title: Climate control problem and wiring diagrams...
Post by: Dreams Never End on 22 June 2011, 10:18:28
This is my first ever post so forgive me if this is an obvious question. I have a Omega 2.2DTi, engine type Y 22 DTH, and the air con died on me last year. I've had it regassed (was apparently empty) but still not working - no voltage to the compressor clutch. According to the handbook all relevant fuses are ok (no's 12 and 33) so am figuring that it's a relay problem. Any ideas which one and where I can get hold of wiring diagrams? Cheers.

the wiring diagram is in the Haynes manual.

Ignore the bit about it saying it's not for your year of car, I'm fairly sure the wiring diagram for the 2.2 is covered

(will just check when I get home )

Air con compressor clutch is powered from a relay in the engine cooling system. The signal that energises the relay originates in the climate panel but passes through the engine ECU and a series of pressure switches that ensure the refrigerant pressure in the air conditioning system is within limits before the compressor engages.

Most likely scenario is low refrigerant pressure due to leakage.

PM sent, by the way. :y
