this is a clutch that is less than 18 months old..  and was bought from my local vauxhall garage...

and to top it all off, when my mechanic looked today, he found that the clutch slave cylinder had never been changed, even though VX charged me for a 3 piece kit plus fitting...!!!!!

No mate, the guaratee was only 12 months, and the car has only done 16k since it was done, and that was a mix of motorway miles and town driving...
I don't do the boy racing thing anymore, my car is for the looks, and the power when i get some little t**t in a citroen paxo sits at the lights revving at me...  lmao

Yep. Fair to say you've broken that. ;D

In fact, I'd say you were lucky the bits didn't make a bid for freedom through the side of the bellhousing.  :o

A Vauxhall 3 piece clutch kit for an Omeag is the Drive Plate, Pressure Plate and bearing.

The Slave Cylinder is not part of the bearing and as such is a seperate part thats why it would have not been changed

The pressure plate was still bolted to the flywheel which is why it didn`t come through the bell housing  :y
I`ve seen a flywheel on a transit van come through the bellhousing and the transmissoin tunnel and it ain`t pretty

I'd agree with you Kev...  the only thing now is because it literally went with a bang and a ploom of smoke it scored the flywheel, which the mechanic did machine for me, but the burnt smell is still lingering...  and I suspect it will for a while yet....

dad1uk,   I spoke to trading standards today, and because they supplied and fitted the clutch, under the 'supply of goods and service act of 1982' they are liable for this, and according to this by rights they should re-emburse me fo the cst ofthe new clutch kit, and labour and any damage it has caused...

despite it being out of warrenty
